There is no specific size for a side table; instead, it should be whatever you need your side table to do! The surface of your end table should accommodate a drink, a lamp, a book or anything else you want to place on it, but this purely depends on what you need.

In terms of height, your lamp table should be tall enough for you to reach comfortably from your seat. If your armchair has tall arms, you will want an end table that is tall enough to be accessed quickly, whereas shorter sofa arms should complement a small side table!
